Emily Margarit Mason (they/she) is an artist who creates momentary sculptural sets for the camera using fragmented photographic prints and found materials from their personal archive. They experiment with moments of visual instability, utilizing varying materials, repetition, and color to build upon the existing captured images.
They earned a BFA in 2014 from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. Their work has been shown at Richard Levy Gallery, Form and Concept, Filter Photo, Center for Contemporary Arts, and The Eleanor D Wilson Museum, among other venues. They have been published in Hyperallergic, The Coastal Post, and Southwest Contemporary. They currently live and work in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
